What is Støttehjulet?
An introduction to who we are, why we exist, and how we think about early-stage investing.

The origin
Støttehjulet — "training wheels" in Norwegian — was born from a simple observation: the hardest part of early-stage fundraising isn't finding money. It's finding people who understand what you're going through.
We are a collective of founders who have collectively built over 30 companies. We have raised capital, hired teams, failed, pivoted, and exited. We've been where you are.
What we're not
We're not a traditional venture capital fund. We don't have LPs to answer to, quarterly reviews, or fund thesis constraints. We invest our own capital, on our own terms.
That means we can be honest. Patient. Genuinely helpful without an agenda.
How we invest
Our cheques are small. Our involvement is not. When we invest in a company, we become genuine partners — available for the hard conversations, the strategic decisions, the moments of doubt that every founder experiences.
We avoid follow-on rounds. We dilute alongside you. We're in it for the long haul.
More than an investor
The honest truth is that we're more of a community than an investor. The capital we provide matters less than the network, the experience sharing, and the community of people who genuinely care about the founders we back.
We back people as much as ideas.
